About Us

Lynn Levine is the author of Frommer's Istanbul, as well as Frommer's Turkey, now in its fifth edition. Her other Frommer's titles include Italy from $90 A Day and Frommer's Southeast Asia (2001). Lynn also serves as a Communications Consultant and Program Officer on contract with UNICEF, the UNDP and IFAW. While on assignment, Lynn has worked in support of issues of child and women's rights, rural development and environmental stewardship. She has campaigned for improved access for girls and boys to primary education for UNICEF in Turkey, motivated orphans and youth towards community involvement in Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan (also for UNICEF), won protections for elephants and tigers at the 14th Conference of the Parties of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species, promoted the benefits of tourism to rural communities in the Philippines and in Turkey, and led the communications strategy that moved eBay to ban elephant ivory from its sites worldwide. Lynn has written for The Boston Globe, Arthur Frommer's Budget Travel Magazine, Travel Holiday and the UN Chronicle. She is fluent in French and Italian and has a working knowledge of Turkish and German.
